»In the history of the democratic forces around the world, the fallen soldiers of the various movements are the most important source of strength and power and point the way for the comrades who are fighting. Remembering the fallen and carrying on with their goals, ideas and dreams are a natural and important part of the struggles. The murdered communards of the Paris Commune were models for subsequent emancipatory movements, the hanged anarchists from Haymarket became models and led to the radicalization of Emma Goldman and thousands of anarchists, Rosa Luxemburg and Karl Liebknecht became the martyrs of the radical communist movements. All of these struggles are related to each other and to us. Many anti-fascists gave their lives in the resistance during the Nazi era in Germany, as well as in the Spanish Civil War and today in the Middle East in the fight against the Islamic State and Turkey. They all fought not only against fascism and oppression, but also for a free, peaceful and solidary society. You are part of the path to a new society, for which we too will fight today and in the future.

We call on everyone to commemorate those who fell in our struggles. We want to celebrate this commemoration together, but in different ways. Our actions will reflect the diversity of ideas, paths and people we remember.

The commemoration can take place, for example, in the form of regional commemorative demonstrations, by commemorating in public places or among friends, by renaming streets, commemorative plaques. Boats can float, balloons can be raised, trees can be planted or candles lit, poems, quotes and stories of the fallen can be shared. "
