Rote Flora
The Rote Flora is a popular political disruptive factor in the Sternschanze district of Hamburg and beyond. It is a project that stands for (post)autonomous forms of politics and is used across currents. Many people relate to the building culturally or politically. It has succeeded in preserving the occupied status and the non-commercial character for decades. We are organized autonomously and make our decisions based on the principle of consensus. We run and maintain the house ourselves. Government funds and sponsoring of any kind are rejected by us. Nobody should earn money in the Rote Flora. Any surpluses flow into the maintenance of the building and into political campaigns. The Rote Flora is not a living space, but a center for emancipatory politics and culture. We will continue to defend the political project Rote Flora uncompromisingly. The fight for our political ideals is more important to us than the building.
